Zu den Befunden und Funden gehören unter anderem eine Pferdebestattung, verschiedene Müllgruben und Barackengrundrisse, sowie zahlreiche private Gegenstände und Militaria.</span></span><br />

Doch mit den Lauf der Zeit werden die Blindgänger die sich dort befinden immer fragiler und gefährlicher und fordern weiterhin Opfer. Trotzdem bleibt das Sammeln von Militaria von 14-18 ein weltweit beliebter "Sport", der nur schwer zu kontrollieren ist und zur Zerstörung wertvoller wissenschaftlicher Informationen, die der Allgemeinheit gehören.</span></span></span><br />

<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent">In der Zeit, in der National Geographic mit seiner Sendung zur "Hobbyarchäologie der Nazizeit" einen
Rückzieher macht, werden Grabgruben eines ehemaligen
Kriegsgefangenenfriedhofs in der Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Sachsen-Anhalt DE)
freigelegt und sollen ab Freitag nächster Woche mit Bäumen und
Parkplätz<span class="text_exposed_show">en für ein neues Ärztehaus
überbaut werden. Wie sich beim Oberbodenabzug diese Woche rausstellte,
liegen in diesem Bereich mindestens zwei mögliche Massengräber (siehe
die hellen Rechtecken auf den Bilder. Die Kelle zeigt nach Norden und
der Streifen ist in N-S-Ausrichtung), die hochgeschätzt ca. 150 bis 200
gefangene Soldaten aus dem 1. Ersten Weltkrieg beherbergen. Diese waren
im Lager Klein-Wittenberg zusammen mit bis zu 15000 anderen
Kriegsgefangenen inhaftiert, sodass bereits 1915 eine große
Typhusepidemie ausbrach, die innerhalb weniger Monaten zahlreiche Leben
forderte.<br /> <br /> Da dieser Friedhof seit DDR-Zeiten mit Garagen
überbaut war, galt es rechtlich nicht mehr als solches. Dennoch war es
bereits bei der Bauplanung der neuen Anlagen bekannt und es liegen
Menschen aus England, Russland, Frankreich, Belgien, Indien usw. hier
unten, welche aus Kostengründen seitens des Bauherrens nicht geborgen
werden sollen und deren letzte Ruhestätte als Parkplatz dienen wird.
Zudem handelt es sich von wissenschaftlicher Seite her um ein wohl
einzigartiges Bodendenkmal, da zahlreiche Problematiken sich hier
stellen und vielleicht beantwortet werden könnten. Hier nur einige
Beispiele:<br /> </span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"> <i>- Wie schauen die Bestattungsformen
(Körperbestattungen im Holzsarg? Im Zinksarg? Ohne Sarg? im Tuch? etc.)
und wie ist der Umgang mit Epidemie-Ausbrüchen und Massentod in solchen
unruhigen Zeiten und unter solchen engen Raumbedingungen (Massengräber?
Mehrfachbestattungen in einer Einzelgrabgrube? Auch Einzelgräber?
Antiseptische Behandlung der Leiche in welcher Form falls vorhanden?).</i></span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"><i><br /> -Man könnte anthropologische und forensische Untersuchungen
durchführen, um Rückschlüsse auf Krankheiten, Todesursachen, Alter und
womöglich Herkunft und früher ausgeübter Beruf der Verstorbenen zu
ziehen (durch berufsbedingte Verletzungen und bestimmten
Gelenken-Verschleiß in manchen Fällen nachweisbar).</i></span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"><i><br /> - Wie ist
die Verteilung der Bestattungen (nach Nationalität? Nach militärischem
Rang? Nach Todesursache? Chronologisch nach Todesreihenfolge?).</i></span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"><i><br /> - Gibt es eine besondere Beigabensitte? Bekamen bestimmte Gruppen (nach
Nationalitäten, Religionen, Rang, Alter etc.) besondere Gegenstände mit
ins Grab? Wurden sie mit ihren persönlichen Besitztümern bestattet?
Wurden sie ihrer Kleidung entledigt, damit die Überlebenden sie
weiternutzen konnten? Etc.</i></span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"><i><br /> -Inwiefern stimmen die Schrift- und
Bildquellen und die mündlichen Überlieferungen mit den archäologischen
Befunden überein? Lassen sich parallelen zu anderen Beispielen
(ausgegrabene Gefangenenfriedhöfe aus napoleonischer Zeit? Untersuchte
reguläre Bestattungen an der Front Westfront des Ersten Weltkrieges
(Bsp. der Grimsby Chums)) ziehen?</i><br /> <br /> Mir sind bisher keine
ähnlichen Beispiele von solchen archäologischen Denkmälern aus dieser
Zeit in Deutschland bekannt, die man untersuchen könnte ohne
rechtswidrig zu sein. Während unsere europäischen Nachbaren wie
Frankreich oder Belgien nun die Archäologie des Ersten Weltkriegs immer
mehr betreiben und bewiesen haben, dass auch für diese Zeit erstaunliche
Ergebnisse erreicht werden können, scheint unser Weg in diese Richtung
noch lang. Auch als plastisches Beispiel zur Auseinandersetzung mit der
Vergangenheit (diese sollte meiner Meinung nach vor den Zweiten
Weltkrieg anfangen: Stichwort "Vergangenheitsbewältigung") könnten solche Bestattungen einen nicht
unerheblichen Beitrag für das Interesse eines breiten Publikums liefern. </span></span></span><br />

émission douteuse sur les reliques de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, les
fosses funéraires d’un ancien cimetière d’un camp de prisonniers de
guerre sont apparues à Wittenberg (Saxe-Anhalt, Allemagne<span class="text_exposed_show">)
et doivent être recouvertes à partir de vendredi de la semaine
prochaine (le 11.04.2014) d’un parking pour le nouveau centre médical en
construction juste à côté. Comme il a pu être constaté lors du déblai
de l’horizon A, on est ici en présence d’au moins deux, peut-être trois
charniers (voir les longs rectangles beiges sur les photos. La truelle
indique le nord et la bande de terre ouverter est en axe nord-sud) qui
pourraient contenir entre 150 et 200 des 900 prisonniers décédés à cet
endroit lors de la 1ère Guerre Mondiale. Ces malheureux étaient
emprisonnés avec jusqu’à 15000 autres prisonniers de guerre, ce qui
facilita dès le début de 1915 la propagation d’une violente épidémie de
typhus qui fit des ravages en l’espace de quelques mois seulement.<br /> <br />
Puisque des garages ont été bâtis à l’emplacement de ce cimetière lors
de la RDA, il n’est plus considéré comme un cimetière mais plutôt comme
un site archéologique. Les propriétaires et constructeurs actuels de ce
terrain connaissaient les risques qu’ils prenaient en construisant le
nouveau centre médical à cet endroit, et que des soldats Britanniques,
Russes, Français, Belges, Indiens etc. étaient encore inhumés ici. Le
service archéologique du Land de Saxe-Anhalt semble malgré tout
impuissant ou bien ne comprend pas l’intérêt scientifique de ces
sépultures. Toujours est-il qu’elles vont bientôt servir de parking et
qu’elles ne seront plus accessibles alors qu’elles soulèvent tant de
questions et pourraient apporter autant de réponses. Quelques exemples :<br /> <br />
<i>-Quelles formes de sépultures sont représentées ici (dans un cercueil
de bois ? de zinc ? à même la terre ? dans un linceul ? etc.) et quel
fut la réaction face à une épidémie si brusque dans une situation de
guerre et dans un contexte géographique si restreint (charniers?
plusieurs inhumations séparées mais dans une fosse unique? y a-t-il des
fosses uniques? les cadavres ont-ils été traités pour éviter de
polluer le sol ? etc.)?<br /> <br /> -Une analyse anthropologique serait de
rigueur pour connaître non-seulement l’âge et les maladies des défunts,
mais aussi les blessures dues à leur ancien métier etc.<br /> <br />
-Comment sont répartis les inhumés (par nationalité? suivant leur rang
militaire? selon leur cause de décès ? par ordre de mort chronologique?<br /> <br />
-Quelles sont les coutumes? Certains groupes (ethniques, religieux,
selon le grade, l’âge etc.) étaient-ils accompagnés d’objets dans leur
sépulture? Leur donnait-on leurs effets personnels? Étaient-ils
inhumés habillés ou les survivants utilisaient-ils leur vêtement? etc.<br /> <br />
-Sur quels points les sources iconographiques, écrites et orales
corrèlent-elles avec les faits archéologiques ? Peut-on déceler des
points communs avec des phénomènes similaires et/ou d’autres périodes
(cimetières napoléoniens, inhumations au front de 14-18, cimetières
d’hôpitaux militaires etc.).</i><br /> <br /> Je ne connais hélas pas d’autre
cas de sites archéologiques de cette époque en Allemagne, où l’on
pourrait faire de telles analyses sans devoir creuser dans un cimetière
encore entretenu. Alors que nos pays voisins tels la France ou la
Belgique ont su démontrer et démontrent encore les apports de
l’archéologie de la Grande Guerre, j’ai l’impression que notre chemin

<span style="color: #cccccc;"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show"><span class="userContent"><span class="text_exposed_show">During rescue excavations in the west of Wittenberg (Saxony-Anhalt, DE) prior to the construction of a parking lot, the archaeologists found the vestiges of the cemetery of a prisoners-of-war-camp from WWI, which was for the first time overbuilt<b> </b>with garages and a road during the period of German Democratic Republic. The residents of this part of the city of Wittenberg mostly forgot what happened there 100 years ago, but thanks some passionated people and archaeologists, this part of history was resuscitated. This could have been the first step for the city and the land of Saxony-Anhalt to deal with this past, but the costs of an excavation were to high, so the constructor managed to avoid some investigations and constructed his parking lots above the grave-pits that were visible in the level plane... </span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br />
